What
does medical science know about pruritus?
Itch receptors are unmyelinated, unspecialized free nerve endings, found near
to the dermal-epidermal junction.
It was widely believed in the past that pain and itch are transmitted by the
same nerve pathway, and also low intensity stimulation of unmyelinated polymodal
C fibre results in itch sensation whereas high intensity stimulation causes
pain. However, in recent experiments, two populations of fibres have been identified
when single unmyelinated C fibres are stimulated, a majority which respond
by causing pain sensation and a small minority stimulation of which causes
itch. Itch-transmitting,
polymodal, unmyelinated C fibre enter the dorsal horn of the gray matter of
the cord, synapse there with secondary neurons which cross over to the contralateral
spinothalamic tract and ascend to the thalamus. There, tertiary neurons relay
the sensation of itch to the level of consciousness in the cortex.
Psychoneurophysiological aspects of itching are complex and poorly
understood. The involvement of large, fast-conducting myelinated
sensory fibres in modulation of the discharge of the unmyelinated itch-
or pain-transmitting fibres presynaptically is generally acknowledged.
However, the more recent discovery of enkephalins has complicated the
picture. These opioid pentapeptides (including leu-enkephalin and met-enkephalin,
which are extensively distributed in the peripheral and central nervous
system, are capable of stimulating the opioid receptors in the central
nervous system) exert a regulatory action on pain and itch traffic through
the central nervous system. Stimulation of these receptors down regulate
pain but may up-regulate itch.
What
does all this mean?
It means
medical science doesn't really understand pruritus, but that didn't stop

I wanted to tell you that I think your product works great.!!! It is the only
thing that has ever worked and I have been itching non stop on both my arms,
for no good reason for almost 4 years. I don't know what ever caused it,
all I know is that I have tried EVERYTHING on this earth, including an itch-stopper

Dear Mr. Presley,
I am 80 years old, and have suffered from the (so called) winter itch for at
least 20 years. I have been to many doctors and dermatologists. They have
prescribed antihistamines and ointments. The ointments alone were $50 for
a small tube. None of the above helped, but cost me a fortune. I could not
sleep with or without the above. My arms and back were covered with scabs
from scratching and digging until they bled .Within two days the itch was
practically gone. After a week my arms and back have all cleared up and I
am not itching.

I received my order yesterday and was amazed that I received it so promptly. I
have been having terrible itching on the top part of my arms. It usually happens

I've tried a number of different products with varying degrees of success, but
yours works well, is not sticky, greasy or smelly, and has no long-term residual
effects like a cortisone cream. I wish I could figure out *why* I have this
on-and-off

My itching problem began when I was 21 years old. I am now 64. With each of my
3 pregnancies I cried at night my skin itched so badly. Even today 3-4 times
a
year my skin starts this itching. I ran on to your product a couple of years

My bottle of itch remedy arrived Saturday. My arms had sores on them from scratching.
I took a shower and sprayed it on. Now, here's what people won't believe! I could
see the sores healing up! Today, they are almost gone. I don't itch anymore. I

formula consists of, it worked its magic and my mom found relief for the first
